Dental Bridges
A custom bridge can restore your smile and dental function. This natural-looking dental restoration can even protect your oral health. Let Dr. Aaron Osga at our dental office in Henderson, NV, bridge the gap in your smile!
What Is A Dental Bridge?
A dental bridge traditionally consists of artificial teeth (called “pontics”) that attach to crowned abutment teeth on either side of the false teeth. The bridge can also be supported by dental implants.
This restoration is typically made out of porcelain, zirconia, or porcelain-fused-to-metal. These are durable materials that can take on the appearance of your natural teeth, replacing one or several teeth after tooth loss.
Why Would I Need a Dental Bridge?
Missing teeth not only make you feel self-conscious about your appearance–they can also affect your quality of life. A bridge placed by our dentist can:
- Restore the appearance of your smile
- Restore your ability to chew
- Restore your ability to speak properly
- Support your lips and prevent a “sunken” appearance around your mouth
- Prevent your remaining teeth from becoming misaligned
Which Dental Bridge Is Best for Me?
Traditional Dental Bridge
A traditional bridge consists of artificial teeth that are held in place by crowns. This is the most common type of dental bridge and can easily be placed by our dentist if you have healthy teeth on either side of your missing teeth. Your natural teeth will be capped with dental crowns that will hold the pontics in place.
Implant-Supported Bridge
An implant-supported bridge is held in place by implants, or small metal posts. During an initial surgery, the dental implants are placed in your jawbone. The posts replace your tooth roots and fuse with your jaw during a process called "osseointegration." After four to six months, the implants can support your permanent restoration.
Implants Offer Unmatched Benefits
An implant-supported bridge has benefits that a traditional bridge lacks. Because dental implants replace tooth roots, they can stimulate your jaw and keep it from atrophying, a problem that occurs after tooth loss. Having implants placed will also forgo the need to alter the structure of healthy teeth.

View On GoogleAre Bridges Covered by Insurance?
Since dental bridges are considered a type of restorative dentistry, most types of dental insurance cover at least part of the cost. The exact cost will depend on the type of bridge you get, the number of teeth that need to be replaced, and the materials that make up your restoration. However, dental bridges are a good investment that can last from five to 15 years when cared for properly.
If you don’t have insurance, our dentistry practice in Henderson, NV, offers CareCredit®. This financing program allows patients to pay for dental care in affordable monthly installments.
